What is Two-Factor authentication?

Last Updated: Apr 23, 2015 05:20PM IST
There are three aspects, or factors, to authentication: what you ARE, something you HAVE and something you KNOW. Two-Factor authentication is where you are required to enter two of the three factors to authenticate with a service. An example would be where you have to type in a password (something you know), but also enter a code you receive via your mobile device (something you own) in order to log in. Two-Factor authentication improves security and is offered by My1Login.
